I had always dreamed of filming a wedding in Sifnos. For years, I wanted to witness the imposing, noble beauty of the iconic Panagia Chrysopigi up close and experience what is perhaps one of the most unique venues in Greece: Lazarou Beach. My chance finally came through. Maria and Thanos—a wonderful couple I first met on the island of Spetses while filming their friends' wedding.

Sifnos is truly the epitome of the Cyclades. With its cobblestone alleys, whitewashed houses, endless golden beaches, and a picturesque Chora that invites you to lose yourself in its beauty, it is a paradise. Anyone who visits this island is lucky, but those who decide to tie the knot here are truly blessed. And the same goes for their guests, who get to experience a celebration on the legendary pier of Lazarou Beach that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

That was exactly the case for Maria and Thanos. The day began with their closest friends getting them ready with all the joy, laughter, and high energy that a proper Greek wedding demands.

Then came the ceremony at Chrysopigi. There is something absolutely magical about seeing this historic church emerge from the deep blue Aegean Sea as you approach it. The ceremony itself was unforgettable, filled with raw emotion and stunning light.

But the highlight of the day was yet to come. The newlyweds made a grand, cinematic entrance, arriving at the Lazarou Beach pier by boat. The moment they stepped ashore, the party erupted. It was an epic night where friends and family danced under the stars with absolutely no intention of stopping.
